How to update Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7100 to Android KitKat 4.4.2

Samsung has launched the official OTA Update to Android 4.4.2 KitKat for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7100. Use this tutorial and learn how to successfully update your device to the latest firmware version. Samsung-Galaxy-Note-2-KitKat-600x340

This tutorial should be used by users who didn’t get the official OTA KitKat Update notification on their phones. Note that it should be used by advanced users and that the firmware below was originally released for France-based devices. In case the phone boots in normal with French set as the default language, then you should go to the Settings menu and change it back to English.

Here are certain aspects that users should note before installing the firmware manually: – All data stored in the device should be backed up – The device must have at least 80 percent battery power – The USB drivers for the device must be installed on the computer and USB Debugging must be enabled on your device – After flashing the firmware, any installed custom ROM will be lost – Custom recovery, such as ClockworkMod Recovery or TWRP, will also be lost.

Note: AndroidTechnicians cannot be held responsible for anything that goes wrong. Users should proceed at their own risk.

》Steps to install the update on your device Step 1: Download the firmware package and extract the zip file. You will get a .tar.md5 file and some .dll files.

Step 2: Download Odin v3.07, and extract the zip file.

Step 3: Run Odin v3.07 as an Administrator.(see image below)

Run as administrator Step 4: Boot your Galaxy Note 2 into Download Mode by pressing and holding VolumeDown, Home and Power buttons. After you get a warning message, press Volume Up key to enter in Download Mode. (see image below)

(Don’t tick on any other check boxes or it may cause your device gets bricked) [see image below for your safety]

Select these options only !

Select these options only !

Step 8: Click on Start button to flash ans install KitKat on your Galaxy Note 2.

Step 9 (a): Wait for 5 to 7 Minutes…..

Step 9 (b): “Pass” Message will appear in odin to confirm that the installation is completed and your device will restart. Step 10: Congratulations ! You have successfully installed or updated your Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7100. If the installation didn’t complete then youmight find a solution in the suggestions below.

NOTE 1: If ODIN freezes or the process fails, then you will be forced to repeat the entire tutorial more than once. Make sure that you do not to skip any steps and that the firmware you’re attempting to flash is support by your Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7100 device.

NOTE 2: If ODIN says that the process has failed, the phone freezes or it enters into a boot loop without booting in normal mode, or it boots in normal mode but it shows too many errors, then you have to apply a Factory Reset. Factory reset will wipe all data from the system partition, but it will help your Note 2 boot in normal mode after the update. Here’s how to do it:

  1. power off the Galaxy Note completely
  2. next, boot the device in Recovery Mode
  3. select the ‘wipe data/ factory reset’
  4. confirm
  5. wait for the process to complete, then use the ‘reboot’ option to  boot in normal mode

Thanks for your time ! These were all the steps that I had done for you, if you need any extra help then use the comments field below.

How to update Micromax Canvas 2 A110 to Android 4.2.2

Micromax is all set to roll out a Jelly Bean update for their Micromax A110 Canvas 2 smartphone. The company spokesperson has confirmed that the update will be available from the second week of March.

However, there is a catch in the situation. Unlike Samsung, Sony or HTC, Micromax will not be rolling out an OTA (over the air) update for A110 Canvas 2. Rather, consumers will have to take their smartphones to the service centre and customer service executive will do the update for them. This does sound like a cumbersome process, but Micromax confirmed to NDTV Gadgets that the update will be available without any any additional cost to existing A110 Canvas 2 customers.

Micromax A110 Canvas 2 is 5-inch smartphone, which was launched in October for Rs. 10,000. It is a dual-SIM smartphone that is powered by 1GHz dual-core processor with 512MB of RAM.

Camera wise, the A110 Canvas 2 packs in an 8-megapixel autofocus rear sensor with dual-LED flash and a VGA front camera. The smartphone comes with a 2,000 mAh battery, which the company claims gives up to 5 hours of talk time. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth 3.0 and GPS. From the time of launch, the smartphone has been one of the star products for Micromax and the Jelly Bean update may add to its consumer appeal.
